I am so grateful to be able to work with so amazingly talented people. People whose unending creativity, ideas and dedication are truly inspirational and motivating, and artists whose work I admire and from whom I can learn so much.
1. Where were you born and where have you lived?
I was born and grew up in Sofia, Bulgaria. At the moment I am living in Berlin, Germany (I have been here for almost 3 years now.)
2. Where have you studied?
I am currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in European Media Studies at the University of Potsdam, Germany.
3. Where have you worked and where do you work now?
I’ve worked as a freelance illustrator and a graphic designer on a couple of independent projects. For the past year I have worked as an Illustrator for Stenarts (Berlin), a company that focuses mainly on visual development for computer games, comic books, animation and commercials.
4. What is your involvement in the project?
I am one of the background and layout designers of the project. I make stuff around the characters. Stuff that sometimes no one even notices, but it is there!
5. What inspired you to join and what motivates you to be part of the project?
I think that when I first found out about The Golden Apple and the team behind it from its Facebook page and website, I got so excited that I screamed for a while… there may have also been some jumping around involved. I immediately fell in love with the idea, the characters, the world and the whole visual style. After I assured my neighbour that the noise will stop, I told one of my fellow artists about the project and that I really hope it gets funded, because it is going to be amazing. I am so happy that now I am actually a part of making all this a reality. I am so grateful to be able to work with so amazingly talented people. People whose unending creativity, ideas and dedication are truly inspirational and motivating, and artists whose work I admire and from whom I can learn so much. It is a really amazing experience for me.
6. What is your favourite colour?
Hmm I don’t think I have only one, but anyone who knows me would say that I am a pretty huge fan of the greenblueish colours (especially for clothes… room decoration… and people’s eyes and stuff… And apples! I like green apples!)
7. Have you seen a Kuker before? What was it like?
No, I haven’t, much to my regret. Only on photos and on TV, but it is definitely on my todo list!
8. Which is your favourite place in the world?
I love travelling and visiting new places so I am not sure if I have found it yet. Although, right now it is where my loved ones are.
9. What inspires you?
Oh, I would say a lot of things and almost every day it is a different one. It can also be something small like enjoying a cup of coffee… or as I live in Berlin, seeing sun rays outside of my window (It has happened only two or three times so far but it was very exciting and I felt inspired for weeks after that).
10. What three magical powers do you possess?
Kindness. Green eyes. I can make all chocolate in the range of 5 – 50 cm disappear in under a minute. It is pretty impressive.
11. What magical powers would you like to possess? What would you do with them?
Maybe something with teleportation or flying. I would have the chance to visit all those places I have always wanted to and also be able to spend more time with my family.
12. Would you like to live in a magical world and which one?
I think that the magical world we are already living in is pretty amazing itself. But it might also be fun if everyone had some superpowers, like having capes and flying around with them in tights, shooting web out of their hands and hanging upside down from it or hypnotizing baby pandas (wink), just to name a few.
13. If you find the Golden Apple, what would you do with it?
As I am a super pragmatic person I would probably keep it somewhere until I know for sure what to do with it. And not just use it for something extremely stupid, like to bring disco and the 80’s glam fashion back (two words – fabulous hairstyles).
14. If you could choose to be a character from the Golden Apple world, which one would you be?
I’d probably be a samodiva… Tina Pakostina maybe (nonofficial answer – a colourful sheep… because of pure awesomeness and not having a care in the world!)
